Channel 4 has commissioned a new Christmas competition special from Yeti Television, Sandi Toksvig’s Tiny Christmas Challenge, that follows on from the success of the Welsh indie’s The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge on More4 late last year.
The hour-long special pits two teams of amateur crafters against each other with the goal of creating a perfectly detailed, micro-scaled Christmas cabin. With renowned micro-sculptor Willard Wigan and interior design expert Laura Jackson set to judge, the first phase of the competition will challenge the contestants to create miniature versions of their own beloved family decorations.
The two top crafters will then be made team captains, and take responsibility for the overall design of their team’s micro-cabin. Each team member will design and make a different miniature item for the room, including a Christmas tree and a roaring fireplace.
“The team at Yeti have pulled together a gorgeous festive offering, and I can’t wait for audiences to be wowed, and hopefully inspired, by the work of these incredibly talented makers,” said Clemency Green, Channel 4 senior commissioning editor.
