In this second series of ‘Our Welsh Chapel Dream’ Master Potter Keith Brymer-Jones and Marj Hogarth continue their quest in turning their 163-year-old chapel into their dream home featuring a pottery studio & community hub. The first task is to convert the downstairs of the Sunday school into their living quarters so they can finally move in.
EPISODE 1- THE KITCHEN - THE HEART OF THE HOME
Keith and Marj rip out the fungus and try to control the dreaded dry rot from their 163-year-old derelict Chapel before the builders can come in. With the kitchen taking shape in the Sunday school, Keith and Marj attempt to breathe new life into the Chapel’s original lighting, visit a fireclay sink factory and fall in love with an 80-year-old British design classic kitchen.
EPISODE 2 – THE SNUG
Keith and Marj set their sights upon turning the old school room into their snug. Marj restores a baroque French chair while Keith gets a helping hand from fellow Pottery Throw Down Judge Rich Miller to make brutalist tiles for a feature wall. EPISODE 3 – VICTORIAN PARLOUR BATHROOM
With Capel Salem slowly becoming a home, the next room for transformation is their Victorian inspired, parlour bathroom. For their black bathroom Keith & Marj take inspiration from Coventry cathedral, Keith makes a giant clay candle stick holder while Marj sets about making her dream lampshade for the bathrooms standard lamp.
EPISODE 4 – BEDROOM - LAST PIECE OF THE PUZZLE
The last thing Keith and Marj need to finally call Capel Salem home is a bedroom inside the building! Marj gilds a vintage French mirror while Keith takes on storage solutions. Both reflect on their Chapel journey so far by visiting a Welsh love spoon workshop.
