There are thousands of unidentified bodies – people who have died, but no one ever came forward to claim the body. This series follows the work of Locate International – an organisation dedicated to revisiting these forgotten cases and giving a name and a story to each unidentified person. Led by ex-detective Dave Grimstead, Locate calls on a network of forensic experts, each with their own specialism, to help solve each case.

The Missing Hero

In this episode, Dave and the team investigate the disappearance of George Johnston – who vanished off the Norfolk coast in 1984 while on a family holiday. George selflessly entered the sea to aid a family in distress, but tragically was never seen again. Now, George’s family seeks Locate’s help in finding his final resting place. It’s a journey that takes the team in unexpected directions and across the sea to France, as they enlist the help of a pathologist, a forensic oceanographer and an expert in facial reconstruction.

Death in Chelsea

In this episode, Dave and the team investigate the mystery of a man who was found dead on a London street in 1994, who remained unidentified despite police efforts. Using the latest technology, Locate’s experts re-open the case and begin to uncover the man’s hidden story – shedding light on the reasons that brought him to that fateful street nearly three decades ago.

Murder at Sea?

Dave travels to Germany to follow the trail of an unidentified man found dead in the North Sea nearly thirty years ago. With the help of a forensic garment analyst, an oceanographer and a forensic psychologist, they piece together the evidence to identify the man and solve the mystery surrounding his death. Are they dealing with a case of murder?
