For the past 20 years, child star Danniella Westbrook has lived out her dramas under the intense glare of the media spotlight. But the former Eastenders star is known not for her once promising acting career, but for her well-publicised struggle with drugs.

Now 42 years old, after years of battling her demons, Danniella Westbrook is ready to get help. Determined to re-build her life, she agrees to undergo a month of intensive therapy with specialist Mandy Saligari, herself a former addict and now Clinical Director of one of the UK’s leading addiction clinics.

Over a number of sessions, therapist Mandy attempts to get underneath Danniella’s skin as she helps her explore her childhood, her career, and her personal relationships in an attempt to understand the events which triggered her descent into drugs, divorce, the loss of her children, bankruptcy and most recently homelessness. But Danniella’s journey through therapy is not easy - shocking revelations and erratic behaviour provide compelling viewing, but also provide insight into the complexities of a life dominated by addiction.
