U.S. cable networks Smithsonian Channel and Discovery en Español are to air one-off specials about the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 mystery.

Smithsonian Channel will air Malaysia 370: The Plane That Vanished on April 6 at 9 p.m. EST/PST. The special promises to put aside speculation and examine the hard evidence in the case of the missing Boeing 777, which disappeared on March 8 with 239 passengers and crew on board.

Produced by ITN Productions, the doc will feature experts from the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics parsing through the evidence. Executive producers are Ian Russell for ITN, and David Royle and Charles Poe for Smithsonian Channel.

Meanwhile, Spanish-language cable net Discovery en Español has will air the ITN-produced Flight 370: The Missing Links (pictured), a one-hour documentary that also features expert interviews and analysis based on the evidence in the Flight 370 case.

The doc will also air in more than 220 countries and territories globally on the Discovery Channel this month.
